LUA Cushion -black/white
LUA Collection: Lula’a is the Zapotec name for the city of Oaxaca, the capital of the state of Oaxaca. It signifies “Huaje Face” referring to the fertile valley of Oaxaca where the Huaje tree grows. Ancient pedal looms brought to Mexico by the Spaniards were adopted by the local population, adapting it to the materials and symbology of each region. An artisan family has passed this knowledge through generations, weaving local cotton on wooden looms, creating this specific design called “vision”. The pattern of intertwined knots becomes evident to the eye only when taking a step away from it.
